What a disaster! Remember me saying in my last post about the theme I was using, and how I absolutely loved it, but was having problems with it? Well! That night I was searching around looking at different themes and I came across a post on 1st Web Designer and low and behold they were featuring THAT theme design and had a link to the designers website. I had originally downloaded it from a free theme website, (more about them soon), so I didn’t know who the actual designers were.

So off I trot, figuratively speaking, to the designers website, and what do I find? Well, for starters they are using the same theme, except with some differences which were better. You can see it here. What a feast for the eyes! their work is just incredible! The designers are Silas Toball and Angi Sullins, a husband and wife team of creative marvels who together own a business called Duirwaigh Studios. At the Duirwaigh site there are links to their individual parts also and the designs of those are just as stunning. You can see Angi’s here, and Silas’s here. You should seriously go take a look because these designs are incredible.

Anyway, I’m looking around their website, thrilled to bits that I’d found them and totally in awe of their work, and I’m thinking — “Yay, now I can ask the designers how to fix the problems I’m having with my theme”, so after spending a whole morning, yes, and entire morning was spent oggling their wonders, I finally wrote to them and asked how to fix my theme problems. Well, it was a good thing I did! It turns out the theme was a pirated one!!! Silas was glad I’d written because it meant I could tell him where I’d got it from. So I spent some time helping him track down the site that was giving away pirated themes and now he is in discussion with the legal team of their domain provider. So hopefully it will all work out well. It seems the theme I was using is Duirwaigh’s signature theme, has never been released for use by anyone else and has won several awards. No wonder I loved it! See, my taste is pretty good. Unfortunately for me it means I had to take it down right away, and thats why I’m just using any old thing at the moment till I can find something better or make my own design.

The site I downloaded the pirated theme from is Generic WP Themes. You can see them here. I would advise anyone looking for themes not to download from this site. Who knows how many of their themes are pirated!!

I was so inspired by Angi and Silas’s work that I had a go at making a web background last night. I wanted it similar to their look but not a copy. So here is my attempt, what do you think of it?
